| Itazuke Alumni Association |
|
|
| Welcome
back after so many years. In case this is your first time
finding that it is now possible to get back in contact
with those former best-friends from that High School so
far away, it will be good for you to know that we do have
an active alumni Association.
|
| Members
live pretty much all over the world, just as when we all
met. However, strong and large concentrations currently
live in California, Texas and Florida. Geee, I wonder
why? |
| Smaller
concentrations are in Washington (state), Ohio, Oklahoma,
DC area, and even smaller groups live in many other
states. |
| In
case you didn't know, Itazuke closed in the early 70's
along with Brady/Camp Hakata out on the peninsula. They
were soon plowed under by the Japanese and Itazuke annex
is now a University and Hakata is kind of the DisneyLand
of Kyushu. The airstrip is still there as is the
"Itazuke Tower". I just saw a recent (I think
recent) photo of the area. You wouldn't recognize most of
it. Check out Wes Injerd's pictures in the "Memories" section. |
| We
have frequent reunions at various spots around the US.
The most recent one was in Dover, Delaware in July 2006; before that
was Kansas City, KS in July 2004; before that was Reno, Nevada
in July, 2002; prior to that was Branson, Missouri, in July
2000; before that, Orlando, Florida, in September 1998; the
one prior to that was in Seattle in 1995.
|
| We
have located over one thousand of an estimated 3000
students and this info is contained in the Association database.
Also, about 300 teachers and parents are present on the
database.
A printed copy of the database which contains information on everyone we know about can be purchased at the very low rate of $6.50. Check the Alumni Association Page on this website for more information. |
|
The next reunion is in
planning for 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada. |
Yearly
Association dues remain $20. Three years (bargain) are $50. Dues help defray organization expenses, such as postage, newsletters, reunions, etc. PLEASE NOTE that you do not have to be an association member to come to reunions or participate on this website. |
